Album Review – Classic Rock News Wire
Close your eyes whilst listening to this album and you swear that Mim Grey was American with a vocal style similar to Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon. But in fact she is from Barnet here in the UK and has already supported the likes of Paul McCartney, Dave Stewart and ABC.
Definitley an album to while away a lazy afternoon as the music and lyrics take you on a journey, none more so than 'Colorado' or 'Sunday Best' which you can see other artists wanting to record their own version of this very strong song. The musicianship is top draw with some very tasty arrangements on 'Castles In The Snow' and 'Lay Your Head Down'.
An amazing voice, strong set of songs and good looks the future looks bright for Mim Grey. The US country scene in particular would be a shoe-in for this album but fear not it is not too country, more Sheryl Crow styled country.
